Key Functions

1. 1Implement policies, laws, and regulations relating to manufacturing industry
2. 2Research and develop policy, strategy, and regulations for manufacturing development
3. 3Plan and establish standards and management systems for quality inspection
4. 4Research and develop programs to promote and expand manufacturing industry
5. 5Monitor and organize implementation of manufacturing plans
6. 6Disseminate regulations — production licensing, factory establishment, industrial zones
7. 7Coordinate and participate in ASEAN, WTO meetings on manufacturing
8. 8Collect and disseminate laws on manufacturing from other ministries
9. 9Monitor and support calibration, testing, quality inspection compliance
10. 10Develop manufacturing industry organizations at district level
11. 11Monitor compliance with business registration in manufacturing
12. 12Manage intellectual property rights in manufacturing sector
13. 13Implement measures for management body personnel
14. 14Expand organizational capacity in manufacturing sector management

Rights & Authority

• Promote and manage manufacturing organizations — formulate plans, policies, strategies, and technology
• Consider, approve, and manage licensing: manufacturing, industrial zones, standards, factory registration
• Consider, approve, and manage factory operations and establish review systems
• Promote and protect industrial property and intellectual rights
• Monitor and inspect enterprises, calibration, testing, quality inspection
• Represent and participate in ASEAN, WTO on manufacturing
• Coordinate and participate in manufacturing and trade meetings internationally
• Collect and distribute laws on manufacturing from other ministries
• Promote, manage, and provide guidance on enterprise technology and quality standards
