Mandate
Administers the registration and protection of intellectual property rights including trademarks, patents, copyrights, industrial designs, and geographic indications in Laos.
Key Functions
- 1Register and manage trademarks, patents, industrial designs
- 2Administer copyright registration and protection
- 3Manage Geographic Indications (GI) for Lao products
- 4Enforce IP rights and investigate violations
- 5Educate businesses and the public on IP rights
- 6Coordinate with WIPO and ASEAN IP cooperation bodies
- 7Represent Laos in international IP negotiations and forums
- 8Maintain IP registry database

- Issue and revoke IP registrations
- Prosecute IP violations
- Represent Laos in WIPO
