About Us
The Economic Research Institute for Trade (ERIT) is one of
the key departments within the Ministry of Industry and
Commerce (MoIC), which was established since 1999. The core
mission of ERIT is to serve as a researcher and policy
advisor as well as an advisory body for the Ministry by:

Supporting MoIC with advice on issues relating to WTO
accession, AFTA implementation, and trade policy
reforms;

Conducting research on trade related economic issues
relevant for Lao PDR;

Formulating strategies for promoting and developing
domestic and international trade of Lao PDR;
-
Conducting research and providing advice on commercial
law reforms;
-
Conduct training on economic, legal aspect which related
to trade and business issues, marketing, HR, Tourism,
E-Commerce, and based on requested of clients;
-
Organizing and providing training for trade-related
capacity building in Lao PDR.
Given the increasing importance of conducting in-depth
analyses of trade related issues available for the decision
makers to improve the positioning of Lao PDR in the world
economy, and in view of MoIC's recent involvements in
regional and multilateral trade integration activities, the
need for ERIT's function has substantially increased.
