Welcome to the Economic Research Institute for Trade of Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Lao PDR. I hope that as you sight our website, you will appreciate the information of our role, past training program, training plan and the report of all activities that ERIT's organized.
The Economic Research Institute for Trade (ERIT) is one of the key departments within the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC), which was established since 1999. The core mission of ERIT is to serve as a researcher and policy advisor as well as an advisory body for the Ministry. We work as research team and we support MoIC with advice on issues relating to WTO accession, AFTA implementation and trade policy. Our team also conducts research on trade related economic issues relevant for Lao PDR and so on.
ERIT is now a member of Asia-Pacific Research and Training Network on Trade (ARTNET), which can assist ERIT to have more chances to learn research technique from ARTNET's research network.
Apart from that, ERIT also has been a counter part of UNCTAD/TrainForTrade Project since 2004 which is chaired by H.E Vice Minster of Industry and Commerce Mr. Saoisavath Savangsuksa with me as a National Coordinator of the Project. The project is focusing on the capacity building and strengthens the ERIT team.
Recently, we also set up our researcher/trainer team who are capable on doing both training and researchering. Those of our trainers are trained from UNCTAD/TFT project material with an expert from Geneva who are specialists in Train of Trainer UNCTAD curriculum. We are sure that, with our strong team, we can help you solve the problem that you might have.
