(KPL) Lao products are on display for sale at more than 200 booths at the 4th Made-in-Laos Expo which opened yesterday, Nov 28, at the Lao ITECC in Vientiane Capital, and will run through December 4.

The opening ceremony of the 2016 Made in Laos Expo was attended by Deputy Prime Minster Mr Sonexay Siphandone, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce Mr Siewsavath Savengseuksa, and President of Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr Oudet Souvannavong.

“The main objective of the event is to gather all potential, unique and quality products produced or assembled in Laos by local and international investors to exhibit and sell to society,” said the Vice President of the Lao Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI), Mrs Chanthachone Vongxay.

The exhibition also aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Lao products by providing a platform for the exchange of business experiences and the matching of businesses and innovations to improve the quality of goods and services so they can compete in domestic, regional and international markets, particularly in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

The 4th Made in Laos Expo was organized to demonstrate the growth of the private sector and to celebrate the great successes of the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summit under chairmanship of Lao PDR, the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2016, and the 41stanniversary of Lao PDR.

Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as the representative of the Lao private sector, is proud to host this gathering of products made or assembled in the Lao PDR to promote Lao culture and the readiness of Lao products to enter regional and international markets among local and international visitors.

This event will encourage and increase tourism and investment in Laos and provide ideas for future business operations in the country.

The products on display include handicraft products, manufactured products, jewelry products, furniture, garments, Lao silk products, coffee and ODOP products.
