On 26th of May 2016 Department of Planning and Cooperation , Ministry of Industry and Commerce had conduct the 9th Trade and Private Sector Working Group Meeting. The discussion was made at DON CHAN PALACE in attendance of more than 100 officials from line Ministries, development partners and the private sector.
The Lao government and its development partners met here yesterday to discuss policy measures to improve the productivity of four key agricultural products to promote economic diversification in the country.
These four key agricultural products namely rubber, maize, cassava and cattle play an important role in reducing poverty in rural areas, said by H.E. Khemmany Pholsena Minister of Industry and Commerce.
A study into these sectors has been carried out since 2015 by the Global Development Solution under financial supported by the Enhanced Integrated Framework.
The main objective of the study is to seek how the government can support poor farmers and local people in the provinces of Luang Namtha, Oudomxay, Xayaboury, Huaphan, Xieng Khuang, and Vientiane on productivity promotion and income generation.
