New Draft Competition Law proposed to NA during the 9th Ordinary National Assembly

During the intersession, the Drafting Committee headed by the Vice Minister of of Industry and Commerce (MoIC) presented the draft CL to NA members in order to enhance their comprehensive understanding about the significance and content of the draft CL. After that, drafting team invited NA members to provide their comments and suggestions on content of the draft in order to further revise and improve the draft. In order to widen NA members’ understanding about and acknowledge of competition and with a support from the German Government through GIZ, two international experts in the field of competition, namely from Malaysia and EU, were invited to present  their experiences and lessons learned for NA members in order  to encourage comments and suggestions.

After the presentations of Vice Minister and experts, the Chairman of NA encouraged all NA members to fully pay attention on the contents and provide comments and suggestions. Many NA members had expressed their many interests and paid a lot of attention on the contents and raised many questions relating to the draft BCL to the drafting team and experts. After the comments and questions from NA members, the Chairman had suggested the drafting team and experts to explain and clarify all issues raised by NA members. Moreover, the Chairman also suggested the drafting team to revise some points ofthe draft competition law in order to fully prepare the draft to submit to the 9thOrdinary Session of the 7th National Assembly (NA).
