The first Lao wood furniture fair was officially opened at the LAO ITECC in Vientiane yesterday 5th JAN 2015, the fair was aiming to promote Lao furniture for the competitiveness at the International Market.
The opening ceremony was warmly attended by Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat LENGSAVAD, Vientiane Mayor Sinlavong KHOUTPHAYTHOUNE, Minister of Ministry of Industry and Commerce Khemmani PHOLSENA, President of Lao Furniture Association Mr Khamphay SOMSANA and distinguished guests.
Manufacturers joined the trade fair are almost 249 boots, 24 boots are from provincials with the total trade volume approximately 25 billion KIP.
The trade fair will provide opportunity to local and foreigner in order to access to Lao furniture products. Attracting the investment and shares experience among producers to improve their productivity and adding value to product and improving their capabilities to be able to competed after join the AEC at the end of 2015, said Mr Khamphay
