The 2014 Lao-Thai Trade Exhibition was officially opened on the 30th July 2014 at Lao-ITCEC by the cooperation of Trade and Product Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC) of Laos and International Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Commercial of Royal Thailand aims to create more trade opportunities and push up the vendors and vendees of the both nations. The ceremony was co-chaired by Mr. Somvang NINTHAVONG general director of Permanent Secretary Office of MOIC, Mr. Somvandy NATHAVONG vice mayor of Vientaine Capital, Mr. Phisanu CHANTHAVITHANH Royal Thai ambassador to Laos, Mr. Phanh VILAYSOM general director of Trade and Product Promotion Department, MOIC, Ms Phimon PONGKONGKEO Royal Thai commercial ambassador to Laos along with border provinces’ vice governors of two countries, ambassadors, members of NGO in Laos, Lao-Thai businessmen and variety guests attended. There were expected more than 254 Lao-Thai companies joined and 304 show rooms, 50 companies and 50 rooms were domestic. There were also various of products made from both countries were demonstrated and sold in the exhibition such as: education equipments, car parts accessories, construction hardware, electronic equipments, fashion clothes, cosmetics, decoration, kitchenware, food, drinks and other products. Alternately, there were short trade technical seminar, cultural exchange, jobs mobile training and business clinic for new entrepreneurs and more activities were held. The trade volume was expected to reached more 6 billion kip about 25 million Baht.
