The Department of Foreign Trade Policy, Ministry of Industry, and the GIZ-COMPETE II project had jointly organized this Dissemination Meeting on the outcome of the 104thMeeting of the Coordinating Committee on Services (104thCCS) and related to Lao PDR Trade in Services.
The meeting objective is to discuss the following issues: The content of the meeting will cover the following issues: 1. the outcome of 104th CCS; 2. Following up the MRAs from line ministries and Progress of negotiation rounds on MRAs; 3. Challenges of implementation MRAs; Consultation on the Draft of ASEAN Services Facilitation Framework; 4. CCS Coordination Mechanism; and 5. Work plan for CCS.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Khemdeth SIHAVONG, Deputy Director General with 35 participants represented the main focal points and those relevant 7 important occupations of MRA and 8 stakeholders under Laos CCS along with the support this meeting is supported by the GIZ-COMPETE project.
The meeting had received the most important key of the meeting, such as: outcome of the 104th Meeting of the Coordinating Committee on Services (104th CCS) as well as the reports and discussion on the work of the Committees Working Groups on the Implementation of Trade in Service (TIS); initiative to promote cooperation, ASEAN Services Facilitation Framework (ASFF); updated and discuss further the implementation on MRA working group; ASEAN TIS priority workplan; and furthermore, participants had discussed about the expansion of their implementation of TIS concerning to updates and challenges in TIS and the initiative to promote Trade in Services Priority in year 2023 and the Priority Economic Deliverables for Lao PDR’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024
